A delegation of MIDHANI, a PSU under MoD, GoI, and KMML, a Govt. of Kerala undertaking has met Shri P. Rajeev,Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Law, and Coir, Govt. of Kerala.
They have discussed the facility augmentation of the KmmL plant.
The minister has explained that KMML has been given full freedom and with the help of ISRO a master plan is chalked out. He has also explained that to augment the facility, ISRO is ready to give the right technology.
MIDHANI CMD, Dr. S K Jha has explained that atomic energy has done similar kind of work for zirconium Sponge production and with their technical help the life of retort can be enhanced. He also stressed that more number of retorts are needed to increase the production capacity.
He also explained that today Magnesium has become very crucial and it’s a big challenge to bring down the price of Titanium sponge.
In the meeting, Shri J. Chandrabose, MD, KMML also expressed ideas for the project.
A committee is being set up to discuss this project.
