Ms. Spurthi Reddy, Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes) has assumed charge as Chief Vigilance Officer, MIDHANI w.e.f. 21st February, 2025. She was recruited in the Indian Revenue Service on 19th December, 2011. During her tenure she worked as an Assistant Commissioner of Central Excise in Bengaluru, Assistant / Deputy Commissioner of Service Tax in Hyderabad, Deputy Director, Directorate General of GST Intelligence, Hyderabad and Joint Commissioner of Customs, Cochin Customs Commissionerate, Cochin.

Before joining as CVO, MIDHANI she worked as Registrar at National Institute of Plant Health Management, Hyderabad, which is a Central Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare, Govt of India.

She pursued B.A.(Hons) Sociology from University of Delhi, M.A. Sociology from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi and M.Sc., Global Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, London.

Ms. Spurthi Reddy received Finance Minister’s Gold Medal and Kaushalya Narayanan Memorial Gold Medal in Indian Revenue Service Officer Training at National Academy of Customs Indirect Taxes and Narcotics. She also received PJD Wiles full scholarship for her Masters Course in London School of Economics and was also nominated by the Government of India to represent India in the Vth UNESCO Youth Conference, 2007, in Paris. Ms. Spurthi Reddy was invited by the Food and Agriculture Organization FAO), Rome, in 2007, to make a presentation on food security issues in India and the Right to Food Campaign. During her tenure as Consultant in the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) she has worked on issues of children education, child labour and children in distress.
