On the occasion of 76th Independence Day, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited, Hyderabad and Rohtak Unit (MIDHANI), Ministry of Defence, Government of India. This year the Independence Day celebrations in MIDHANI started with the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program, an unprecedented initiative of the Government of India. Under the Har Ghar Tiranga program, National Flags were distributed to all the employees of the company. The employees displayed patriotism by hoisting the Indian National Flag at their homes from 13 to 15 August 2022. With this they also set an example of unity and integrity.
The Chairman and Managing Director, MIDHANI Dr. Sanjay Kumar Jha hoisted the Indian National Flag in Dr. BR Ambedkar Ground of MIDHANI plant followed by National Anthem. While addressing the august gathering Dr. Jha highlighted the importance of Amrit Mahotsav of India’s independence. In his address, he remembered the freedom fighters of the country. He expressed his gratitude towards the sacrifice made by them. Underlining the role of PSUs in the progress of the country, Dr. Jha presented various examples of the contribution of DPSUs in making the country Aatmanirbhar Bharat, self-reliant. Urging all the employees to be diligent, he stressed on the need for the role of MIDHANI to maintain the Aatmanirbharata of the country. Dr. Jha in his address also expressed his views on the benefits being given to the country by the various production and CSR projects carried out by the MIDHANI.
On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav , the meritorious students of BPDAV School MIDHANI, 75 employees from 19 different areas of the Company for outstanding contribution and employees who have rendered 25 years of long service were felicitated with mementos and Appreciation Certificates. The winners of various sports – Badminton, Tennikoit, Throw Ball, Running, Musical Chair, Lemon-Spoon, Carroms, Cricket, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Singing and Volleyball competitions organized on the occasion were also awarded. During the Amrit Mahotsav, staff and school students presented colorful programs.
As part of the Azadi Ka Amrita Mahotsav, Swachhata Abhiyan program was also organized by MIDHANI near the statues of the famous personalites of Telugu land at Tankbund, Hyderabad on August 13.
