Dr. Upender Vennam is a distinguished member of the 1999 Batch of the Indian Postal Service with a diverse educational background. He holds a B.E. in Mining Engineering with a Gold Medal, an MBA in Marketing, P.G. Diplomas in Human Resource Management and Insurance Management, along with additional qualifications in Creative English and Computing. Furthermore, he is a Doctor of Philosophy in Marketing.
Beyond his academic achievements, Dr. Vennam is a prolific writer and researcher. He has authored nine published books, including poetry, short stories, and a novel. Additionally, his works have been featured in numerous Telugu magazines for two decades, with about 100 short stories published. His scholarly contributions extend to nine research papers on management topics published in reputable journals.
In his professional capacity, Dr. Vennam has made significant contributions as a Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), implementing 135 systemic improvements to enhance procedures. He has also authored Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) for conducting departmental inquiries and drafting proper charge memoranda. His expertise has been instrumental in revising various manuals and policies related to conduct discipline, human resources, procurement, and roster management in organizations such as BDL in Hyderabad and at MIDHANI.
Dr. Vennam’s talents extend beyond academia and administration; he is also an accomplished philatelist. He has received numerous awards for his poetry and storybooks and has garnered several medals for his philatelic exhibits in both national and international exhibitions. His passion for philately has earned him recognition in the Limca Book of Records, including mentions for having the most philatelic items on the Ramayana theme and for his extensive collection related to poets, writers, and Nobel literature prize winners.
