Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd. (MIDHANI), Hyderabad has set up its new Armouring Unit at IMT Rohtak to meet operational requirement of Defence Forces, Central Armed Police Forces and other Security Agencies. This unit is manufacture Personal Protection and Group Protection equipment for our forces with reliable material using emerging manufacturing technologies.
MIDHANI is first Defence PSU to set up its manufacturing plant in Haryana. it is a first ever plant in India which is producing almost all types of Armoured products for the Forces and also undertake armouring of Heptrs, Naval platforms and other similar equipments MIDHANI has taken technology from BARC, Mumbai and DMRL, Hyderabad for emerging materials to manufacture armoured equipments using reliable process technologies. MIDHANI has also set up a nano material plant to produce Carbon Nano Tube (CNT) to strengthen the Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) to manufacture Bhabha Kavach (India’s lightest Bullet Proof Jacket) named in the honour of Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha who is known as Father of the Indian nuclear program and founder of the Atomic Energy Establishment, Bombay which is now named as Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC).
Spread in a area of 10 Acre this plant has a large capacity to produce all types of personal and group protection equipments as well as latest metal and composites cutting technologies for various Defense and other civil applications. Plant is equipped with Water Jet Cutting Technology, Plasma Cutting Technology, Autoclaves, Forming Machines and Composite Moulding Presses to undertake variety of manufacturing processes. MIDHANI has also set up an exhibition cum display Centre in Rohtak for motivating youth and commitment to Nation for Indigenisation of Defense Industry under Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
